The challenge was to use colours that resonated gently with the furniture and accessories and at the same time using iconography and content that was fresh and a little whimsical. saw the work in the flesh at the Tate Modern...it is absolutely astonishing and amazing. The Chinese artist Ai Weiwei is a genius..this work is so powerful and the story behind the making of it is poignant. 1600 workers at Jingdezhen participated in the manufacture and painting of these seeds.
